Connect Polimake to ChatGPT and Claude

Connect ChatGPT or Claude to Polimake with OAuth, then find project assets and retrieve their original download links.

Connect your assistant to Polimake to find assets in your projects and retrieve their original download links from a conversation.

Before connecting

Sign in to Polimake and check that you can open a project with uploaded files. Let their analysis finish before testing visual searches. Your assistant account must allow custom MCP connections; a managed workspace may require an administrator to enable them.

Copy this exact server URL:

https://mcp.polimake.com

Use the root URL as shown. Do not append /mcp: that path returns a 404.

Polimake uses OAuth. Follow the sign-in and authorization prompt, and review the requested access before accepting. The connection does not require you to paste a Polimake password or API key into the chat.

Connect in ChatGPT

  1. In Settings, open Security and login and enable Developer mode if available.
  2. Open ChatGPT Plugins, select +, and name the connection Polimake.
  3. Under Connection, choose a public endpoint and paste the server URL above. Select OAuth if asked, then finish Polimake authorization.
  4. Create the connection and review its discovered tools.
  5. Start a conversation and select Polimake from the tools menu.

Availability depends on your account and workspace policy. See OpenAI's current connection instructions if your interface differs.

Connect in Claude

  1. Open Customize → Connectors, select +, then Add custom connector.
  2. Enter Polimake and paste the server URL above. Add the connector and complete Polimake authorization when prompted.
  3. In a conversation, open + → Connectors and enable Polimake.

For managed workspaces, an owner may need to add it in Organization settings → Connectors first. See Claude's custom connector guide.

Check your first search

Try these requests in order, replacing the example project and subject with your own:

  1. “Use Polimake to list my projects.”
  2. “In the project Summer Campaign, find images of people on a beach.”
  3. “Get the details of the first result and show its preview and original download link.”

A successful connection can list your accessible projects, search the selected project, and retrieve a matching file's details. If the assistant asks which project to use, choose one from the returned list. Use a subject you know exists in that project for this first check.

Troubleshooting

To stop using Polimake in an assistant, disable it for the conversation or remove the connection from that assistant's settings.
